Who it's for

You want readers to recognise the character of your book before they open it. BrainON designs covers for self-published authors, from quiet literary stories to richly illustrated nonfiction and children’s books.

Your title, image and author name need to work together. A beautiful picture with nowhere to put the words is a promising start to a different project. We create a cover that introduces your book clearly and carries that idea across the editions you plan to publish.

What's included

Your book cover design combines typography, imagery and the information readers need. For a print edition, we design the front, spine and back as a complete wrap. For an ebook, we prepare the cover for its digital destination.

Paperback, hardcover and dust jacket designs each have their own production requirements. We prepare the artwork for the edition and printer you choose, including KDP and IngramSpark projects. Share any existing artwork or ideas you want us to consider, along with the title, subtitle, author name and back-cover text. We make the elements work as a whole rather than leave the spine to fend for itself.

How it works

  1. Introduce the book. Tell us about its subject, readers and intended editions, and send the wording and artwork you already have.
  2. Find the visual direction. We bring the imagery and type together so the cover communicates the right character at first glance.
  3. Review the complete design. Look at the title, image, front, spine and back together. We work through your feedback before preparing the final artwork.
  4. Prepare the production files. You receive cover files for the print and electronic editions you are publishing.

FAQ

Can you design both my print cover and ebook cover?

Yes. We prepare covers for ebooks, paperbacks, hardcovers and hardcovers with dust jackets. Tell us which editions you need.

Can I send an image I already have?

Yes. Send the original file and your ideas for using it. We look at how the artwork can work with the title and the rest of the cover.

What do you need for a print cover?

Send the cover wording and your printer or platform details. The final page count and production specifications help us prepare the spine and full cover correctly.
